One-Day Cooking Class in Rome with Market Visit

Enjoy this fascinating and delicious one-day cooking class in Rome with one of several skilled and personable chefs based in the ancient city. You will meet your chef in the morning or afternoon and begin your culinary walking tour to visit some of the chef’s favorite places to shop at a fantastic local Roman market (only during morning tours).

Next it is on to either a magnificent private apartment, restaurant, or food studio, each of which are situated in the center of Rome. The class will focus on teaching you a variety of techniques related to making pasta dishes. You’ll also make a full Italian meal, complete with a meat course (which can be substituted for vegetarians) and dessert, which you’ll then enjoy for lunch or dinner. This is not a class for the advanced cook, but rather a charming Roman experience capped with an authentic and delicious meal.

An afternoon pizza class is also available (without the market visit). Learn to prepare traditional pizza dough from scratch, including techniques on making and shaping the best dough, then top your pizza to enjoy afterwards for dinner!

The whole experience was wonderful. Going to the market to purchase what we would be cooking that day is always one of our favorite parts. Our instructors were terrific. They were very informative and patient with all of us. Making the 12 foot long strip of pasta was a very funny part of the afternoon.

We were very happy with the whole experience. I was happy that we got to see the market at Piazza Campo Dei Fiori, walk through the Jewish quarter, and see an amazing apartment in Rome. The cooking class was a lot of fun. It was hands on and despite having 10 students, we still had 3 assistants to help get everything done. The other students were from all over the world - Norway to Australia. Our appetizers and pastas were all delicious.

The lesson and walking "tour" with the chef set a very high bar for the rest of our vacation. It was very neat seeing a different side of Rome through their food stores, etc. and even briefly visiting his restaurant. What made our experience even greater is that it was only 2 of us. More participants would have reduced the enjoyability greatly. The dishes we prepared were exquisite and it was nice to see that it was not "cookie cutter" but the chef was making the menu based on our preferences and what was available at the time. We left "fat and happy" by the end of the night.

I attended this one day cooking class with a group of 7 of my friends that were spending a week in Italy. We attended a day class with the chef which started with a walking tour of some of the lesser traveled areas of Rome and a trip to the market. We then went to his beautiful apartment where we cooked for several hours. We made homemade pasta and drank the wine. After all was said and done. We ate our dinner in his dining room and felt like queens. We agreed that we had an amazing week in Italy but this day with the chef was our favorite part. I would heartily recommend this experience to anyone who would be fortunate enough to attend. The office in Chicago was extremely helpful in assisting in finding the experience that I was looking for. They matched us up perfectly. They were very helpful and our reservations went smoothly.
