Many of our culinary tours are wonderfully romantic trips. Travel is something couples usually love to do together, whether it is a lazy beach vacation, a museum hopping city visit, or a lazy stay in the countryside – and all of these lend themselves to authentic cooking vacations with TIK! In fact, so many of our travelers are couples looking for a romantic trip that we also specialize in honeymoons and anniversary trips.

Accommodations
The accommodations for our romantic cooking vacations are as varied as our destinations: everything from 4* and 5* hotels to country B&Bs. We use private villas, historic residences, converted farmhouses, and even luxury tents in some locales! The accommodation type depends on the destination – for example, in the cities we tend to favor 4* and 5* hotels or historical buildings, while in the countryside you might find yourself in a private villa, an agriturismo, a farm manor house, or a B&B. If you have a specific vision in mind for your romantic trip, just let us know and we’ll steer you in the right direction.
Hands-On Cooking Classes
The hands-on cooking classes are a fun and delicious way to learn about the culture and gastronomy of the destination you are visiting. Our culinary couples are split into two types: those where both like to cook, and those where one is really the cook and the other is tagging along. Most of our traveling couples fall into the first category: they are couples that were brought together by food (among other things) and they enjoy preparing it, eating it, and talking about it. For those couples where one partner is more interested in cooking than the other, we do offer many itineraries that include the option of being a non-cooking companion (who joins for the meals and excursions but not for the classes), but almost no one opts for this. The fact is, even for novices, the cooking classes during our culinary vacations are fun, and it’s a chance to enjoy a unique experience together. Plus, with a few exceptions, we try not to overload you with cooking, usually limiting the number of classes to around 4 half-day sessions during a week-long cooking vacation.
One of the advantages of a cooking vacation over other romantic trips is that you know it’s really all about the food. Whether you are learning to make your own cassoulet to enjoy, or your own plate of gnocchi alla Sorrentina, whether you are visiting a local farm for a tasting of their homemade salumi and cheese, or visiting a Michelin-star restaurant for a tasting menu and wine pairing, you know that for us at TIK, like for you, the food is perhaps the most important part of the trip.
More Than Just Food
Don’t worry, though, you don’t spend all your time cooking and eating! You will also enjoy excursions to local cultural sites as well as foodie visits to explore the local gastronomy.

Finally, although we do offer a few self-drive options for our more independent travelers, almost all of our romantic cooking vacations include transfers and transportation, so you have only to pack your bag and show up at the designated place and time to start enjoying your romantic holiday in the most worry-free way. Don’t worry about maps, directions, drinking too much at lunch, our courteous, local English-speaking drivers will take care of you during your culinary tour and will make sure you have the time of your lives.
