Itinerary

  • Private transfer from Florence airport, train station, or Florence Hotel to Salvadonica, an ancient medieval Tuscan Borgo with all the comforts of modernity. Amidst the quiet rolling hills of Chianti region, Salvadonica is an authentic 14th century borgo, once owned by Corsini princes. Its name comes from the words Silva and Domini, or the “wood” of a “noble owner”, in this case, the Corsini family whose coat of arms still stand on the two main buildings of the borgo.
  • Check into your deluxe room in the late afternoon followed by leisure time to relax by the pool.
  • Welcome dinner at “Volpenera”, the resort’s restaurant.
  • Overnight.

Visiting San Gimignano during our Tuscan villa culinary vacations.Day Two

  •  The early bird catches the worm, join your local guide for a coffee around 7:30 am! They will lead you through the enchanting forest paths of Salvadonica. Breathe in the pure air of the hills, and admire the picturesque panoramas that have made our region famous. The gentle slopes are adorned with cypresses and charming farmhouses, embraced by centuries-old olive trees, lush leafy forests, and the vineyards of Chianti Classico. Your journey will bring you back to the Salvadonica vineyards, where a personalized breakfast awaits.
  • After breakfast, you’ll visit the charming village of San Gimignano for a pleasant walk in the city center. Established as a powerful community in the 1100, San Gimignano became famous for its daring towers built to symbolize the wealth of the town and of its merchants.
  • Lunch will be up to you before you return back to Salvadonica in the early afternoon. The rest of the afternoon will be at your disposal.
  • At 5 pm, meet the expert winemaker for an introduction to local products. Learn about terroir, Chianti vineyards, cultivation stages, and the production of wine and Extra Virgin Olive oil. The tasting includes the estate’s olive oil and three wines: IGT, Chianti Classico, and Riserva. Explore the ancient underground tuff cellar, now a bottle preservation space, for a captivating taste ritual.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight.

The famed Campo in Siena, Italy.Day Three

  • Breakfast around 10:30 am as you meet our Chef for a hands-on cooking class. Your lesson will consist of a three-course meal featuring fresh local ingredients from Salvadonica.
  • For lunch, enjoy your handmade dishes, perfectly paired with local wines.
  • In the afternoon, join your English-speaking driver and head to the beautiful city of Siena. Explore the magnificent Cathedral and its interior, Campo Square, and hear fascinating stories about the historic horse-race, Palio, from your private guide. Visit two local pastry shops and indulge the iconic flavors of “ricciarelli” biscuits and “Panforte” cake from Siena.
  • Early dinner at Enoteca dei Vinattieri in Siena.
  • Return back to your accommodation overnight.

  • Breakfast, then meet your driver in the lobby to journey to the lovely town of Pienza, a true symbol of Renaissance.
  • Independently explore the narrow romantic streets of this tiny village, once home to Pope Pius II. It remains a true embodiment of the quintessence of Tuscany even after five hundred years.
  • Drive to the family Wine Estate of La Bindella for a wine tour of the historical wine cellar with lunch and wine tastings to follow.
  • Next, venture to the wine region of Brunello di Montalcino and stop at the Wine Estate Caparzo for a guided visit of their wine cellars and a tasting of their Brunello di Montalcino.
  • Return back to Salvadonica.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight.

  • Breakfast around 10:30 am, then meet with our Chef for a 2nd hands-on cooking class.
  • After the lesson enjoy an authentic hand-made meal crafted by none other than you!
  • Around 3:30, embark on a full-day excursion to the Chianti region with your driver. Explore the quaint Piazza of Greve, then journey up to Montefioralle, the birthplace of Amerigo Vespucci, and discover the Medieval village. Head on to Castellina, where you’ll visit the family-run authentic winery, Querceto di Castellina Wine Estate. There you’ll be immersed in a guided tour of the wine cellar, followed by yet another wine tasting.
  • Return back to Salvadonica.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight.

  • Breakfast, and then meet at 10:30 am for your last hands-on cooking class.
  • Lunch to follow.
  • The rest of the day is at leisure for individual exploration or to relax at the pool. If you’d like, we can organize a picnic appertivo with wine and cheese in the vineyards!
  • Farewell dinner at Volpenera restaurant .
  • Overnight.

Day Seven

  • Breakfast & check out.
  • Private transfer to Florence airport, train station, or city center.

Accommodation Information

Visit the Chianti hills and stay in a beautiful Tuscan “borgo,” or rural hamlet. The stone guesthouse features an outdoor pool, vineyards and olive groves as far as the eye can see, and en suite Tuscan accommodations. Some rooms have wrought iron beds, frescoed walls, or wood-beamed ceilings. There is also an iconic tuff wine cellar.
