A Culinary Tour in the Czech Republic
Your culinary tour of the Czech Republic will begin in its famous capital city, Prague, which has been a cultural hub in Central Europe for for over a thousand years. Prague is known for its excellent gastronomy and nightlife, which you will have the chance to experience daily during your stay in the city. You will explore its wonderful architecture and become intimately acquainted with the city’s beer culture during a brewery visit.
Bohemia is one of the three major regions in the Czech Republic, and so-called Bohemian crystal has been a staple since its invention in the 18th century. It is a special type of glassware high in lead content that shines at first glance and reflects rays of light into color combinations. It can be processed into works of art because its edges are very fine, thin and sharp.
Czech cuisine encompasses the very essence of the Central European style of cooking. In addition to traditional Central European dishes, which you will find and enjoy on your tour of Bohemia, many Prague restaurant owners are waking up to the potential of experiential dining, combining the rich culinary heritage with modern technologies and creating state-of-the-art dishes.
Prague is home to numerous world renowned museums and cultural institutions, such as its National Museum and the Rudolfinum building, which is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. The city is also especially significant to the art nouveau movement, as it was home to the artist Josef Sudek, Alfons Mucha, a distinguished painter and illustrator especially known for decorative theatrical posters and a series of monumental canvases known as The Slav Epic.
Following your stay in Prague, you will spend several days in the beautiful town of Český Krumlov, in the Southern Bohemia region. The town is dominated by its large castle complex, which encompasses 17 acres and makes for an excellent excursion. You will have ample opportunity to explore the town and enjoy its many attractions during your time in the Czech countryside.
