Cooking Classes In Paris and France

Explore and learn French gastronomy during a wonderful cooking class in France.

No matter where you plan to travel in France, food will be a fundamental part of your trip. For our culinary travelers, who are impassioned foodies, amateur (and sometimes even professional) cooks, and wine lovers, the food and wine are often the most important part of a trip.

Our one-day cooking classes a la carte allow you to learn regional dishes, acquire simple cooking tricks, master certain techniques, and prepare full menus under the supervision of an expert instructor.

Regional French Cooking Classes

Our French cooking classes on regional cuisine include:

  • Normandy: This northern region is where you leave behind the olive oil you find in the south and embrace the French dairy, including butter, cheeses, and cream during your French cooking classes. Beef is prominent, as are lamb and chicken, but the region’s long coastline makes it a great region for seafood. In short – a diverse and delicious regional cuisine that you will explore during your Normandy cooking classes in France.  One thing it is not known for is wine production, but instead features hard cider, beer, and the apple brandy Calvados.
  • Paris: Our most popular cooking classes in France are our Paris cooking classes. As the capital of the country, it truly represents the breadth of French cuisine, and you can cook specialties from many different regions during our Paris cooking classes. We can also offer bread making classes in Paris, as well as pastry classes in Paris.
  • Provence: Here is the heart of French Mediterranean cuisine. Sunny, delicious Provence offers a different set of ingredients for your cooking classes in France, including olive oil, fresh produce (particular favorites in the region are tomatoes, garlic, fresh herbs, peppers, and eggplant), as well as olives, anchovies, and fresh seafood. You can learn regional Provencal dishes during your French cooking classes and pair them with delicious Provencal wines at the end!
Your table awaits you for your gourmet lunch on a gorgeous French estate during a cooking vacation in France.

What to Expect in Our Cooking Classes in France

Here are some common questions people ask when inquiring about our cooking classes in France:

Are your cooking classes in France “hands-on?”

Yes! You will do the cooking yourself.

Who teaches the cooking classes?

This depends on the specific class. It might be a local cooking instructor, a Michelin-star chef, a local caterer, or simply a passionate home cook with a great knowledge of regional cuisine. Our chefs usually speak English (where they do not an interpreter is present), and they are all dedicated to imparting their knowledge of French gastronomy to our culinary travelers during their cooking classes in France.

Where are the French cooking classes held?

Again, this will depend on the specific class. It might be at a local cooking school, a patisserie, a restaurant, or in a private home.

What can I expect to learn during your cooking classes in France?

Generally, our cooking classes in France will last 2-3 hours and you will prepare 3 or 4 courses, including starters, main courses, and desserts. Often your French cooking class will include a market visit, and it will always include a delicious meal based on what you prepared during your cooking class in France.
